Bodycam footage has been released of a Colorado officer shooting a burglary suspect who fired at officers after fleeing a VFW in Denver.

Thorton police officers responded to the robbery at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post at 10217 3:35 a.m. on May 31st.

Officers in an unmarked police car followed the suspect car leaving the VFW parking lot after it was spotted by an officer.

Officers did not return fire after one of the suspects shot at the officers from the car, but they did pursue them until the driver lost control and crashed.

After exiting the vehicle, the driver turned and shot at and missed an officer.

The officer returned fire and hit the suspect in a lower limb.

The suspect was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No officers were injured during the incident.
