Atlanta police are searching for a woman they say approached a family with four children at Atlantic Station earlier this month and coughed on them.
Investigators believe the stunt may have been “some kind of social media challenge” because the woman, who was on her phone at the time, reportedly said “corona” and laughed before walking away.
The incident occurred April 5 as the family of six, including four children, were exercising outdoors, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant said Tuesday.
The children’s parents told police they lost sight of the woman before they were able to confront her. Surveillance footage released by the department appears to show the woman walking through Target with a shopping bag and a drink.
She is wanted on reckless conduct charges, according to police.
Anyone who recognizes her is asked to call Atlanta police. Tipsters can remain anonymous, and be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
