
Police in the Texas town of Conroe are on the hunt for a man who opened fire on police during a Tuesday morning traffic stop.
The incident took place at around 4 AM after police stopped a black Lexus. As the officer approached, the driver began shooting at him.
The as the officer returned fire, the vehicle fled. The lawman has been reported to be uninjured, though the suspect’s condition is not known.
Around an hour-and-a-half later, police were alerted to the presence of a flaming Lexus by an oil field security guard, who reported the car was on fire in the woods near his area of responsibility.
When police went to investigate, the driver was nowhere to be found. According to Click 2 Houston, it is unknown if the car is the same one used by the gunman.
