The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office has ended a wild goose, er chicken, case where one person claimed a deputy shot a chicken from their cruiser.
The Sheriff’s Office said “multiple” eyewitnesses claim the deputy made the ‘egg-cellent’ shot from a moving vehicle.
In response to those false allegations, the Sheriff’s Office released surveillance and dash cam video of the incident showing the chicken trying to cross the road.
Why it was crossing the road is still a question, but in this case it didn’t make it because the bird didn’t see the oncoming vehicle.
The deputy did arrest one person for filing a false police report.
