A tense environment at a Minnesota High School led to a scuffle between students and police Monday morning. Students angry at one of their own after the person posted a ‘racist’ social media comment over the weekend.
According to KMSP-TV, Owatonna Senior High School called the police to have extra officers on Monday to help keep the peace. This was after administrators learned about the racially charged comments posted by one of their students over the weekend.
Shortly after noon, some students began shouting at each other. Officers intervened to break up the crowd but had to use force because some of the students were not being cooperative.
The school was quickly put on lockdown as police and administrators sorted everything out.
Video of the incident between police and students was posted on Twitter and has now gone viral.

Two students were taken into custody, one for assaulting an officer.
The School District says it has opened an investigation into the comments that sparked the incident, but no word on any punishment to the student who made the post.
