Pharr police are investigating the daylight, armed kidnapping of a 46-year-old Mexican man who is an inspector at a border logistics facility.
In a news release, Pharr police said officers were called to the scene of the kidnapping just after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Mass Logistics, which is located at 9601 International Dr.
Jose Santiago Perez-Barragan, a Mexican national, was forced into a white F-250 pick-up, according to the release.
“Perez-Barragan is a Mexican worker who crosses the border every day with a group of co-workers and is an inspector at the facility,” the release states.
Pharr police are asking for the public’s help in locating the F-250 pick-up, which has gold trim.
Investigators believe at least two people were inside the truck during the kidnapping and said the vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Anaya Road.
Police have not established a motive for the kidnapping.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pharr Crime Stoppers at (956) 787-TIPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
