Mississippi law enforcement officers are on the hunt for a man who shot a Hattiesburg Police Officer during a warrant call this morning.
Hattiesburg PD are currently on the lookout for Victor Kirksey, who is believed to have shot an unnamed officer in the leg during a routine warrant-serving call on Monday.
According to WTVM, the Kirksey is wanted for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, with all who encounter him to consider him armed and dangerous.
HPD put out an alert on Twitter and other social media platforms earlier today.
“IMMEDIATE BOLO: Victor Kirksey wanted [for] aggravated assault on a police officer,” they wrote on Twitter. “Considered armed and dangerous, do NOT make contact with the suspect call 911 immediately.”
The officer involved in the incident was taken to the hospital for treatment, though his condition is unknown.
