Phoenix police have opened an internal investigation after multiple patrol vehicles were broken into while parked at police substations.
Among items stolen from the vehicles is an AR-15 rifle, Glock sidearm, Taser, pepper spray and other weapons and items.
“We are vulnerable to property crimes and we will actively seek solutions to correct any breach in protocol and shore up our securities,” a spokesperson told ABC 15.
In addition to searching for the perpetrators, the investigation will look into whether or not police violations occurred.
The burglaries occurred on January 18th, 25th, and February 2nd at two different precinct substations.
