The SUV of slain Lt. Debra Clayton who was murdered in the line of duty on Jan. 9 was vandalized Thursday, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Clayton’s patrol vehicle was parked in front of police headquarters so that family, friends, and members of the public could pay their respects. Many had laid flowers, wreaths and American flags on the SUV.
“Unbelievably sad someone would vandalize Lt. Debra Clayton’s vehicle,” OPD tweeted on Friday.
The writing on Clayton’s SUV was largely incoherent and illegible.
Police do not know who vandalized the vehicle, but are investigating, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
