An Oregon man was arrested after trying to steal a bicycle from the Gladstone Police Department.

After watching 26-year-old Adam Valle on a security camera as he cuts the lock off the bike with a bolt-cutter, Sgt. Matt Okerman walks outside to confront him.

Valle tries to escape, but is detained by Okerman, who had his taser out.

“It’s dumb, you know,” Sgt. Carl Bell told ABC News. “I have not actually seen something that blatant because the officers were inside watching on video camera.”

Valle was charged with theft, criminal mischief and felon in possession of weapons.
