A pair of Oklahoma City police officers found a lot of illegal items in a man’s backpack last week, including a thermite grenade.
According to KOCO, the two officers pulled over two men who were traveling by bicycle on August 27th. As they were inspecting one man’s backpack, the officer pulled out drugs, a BB gun, and a live homemade grenade.
The officers called in the bomb squad to dispose of the homemade device, which the men say they had purchased from a person nearby.
Police searched the suspected bombmaker’s home, but have not released any details from the raid.
The man carrying the grenade did admit to officers that he had intended to purchase a second, though police did not disclose what he intended to do with the explosive weapons.
