Chicago Police have released dramatic video showing an officer-involved shooting of a kidnapping suspect.
According to CBS Chicago, the department received a call from an Elgin couple who said they had been carjacked, kidnapped and brought to Chicago.
The bodycam shows the officer searching for the suspect in an apartment and shooting him before he could reach for his weapon.
41-year-old Luis Vazquezwas killed in the shooting.
The initial report turned out to be a hoax as the kidnapping was not random. Chicago PD says the three people, the couple and Vazquez, all knew each other.
The officer is still on administrative leave as COPA continues its investigation.
