A police officer in Maine is winning hearts and minds with a rendition of “O, Holy night.”
Portland Police Officer Jeremy Turner -who was a music major at the University of Southern Maine before taking on his current duties- was caught on tape as he sang Christmas carols in a local city park.
It turns out that the impromptu caroling was the result of a dare by a fellow officer, according to the Associated Press.
Belting out melodic tones in the frigid air, Turner warmed hearts with his soulful rendition of the classic Christmas carol.
According to the Associated Press, Portland Police Chief Michael Sauschuck was more than on board with the public holiday act of civility by a civil servant, adding that the video’s popularity serves to “humanize” law enforcement officers.
