Officer asks drunk driver for license, gets Ruby Tuesday’s coupon instead

A man suspected of drunk driving got pulled over in Niceville, Florida and let’s just say what happened next was a little out of the ordinary.

The NW Florida Daily News reports that the man was pulled over Dec 21, after the police officer noticed him driving erratically.

Confused and disoriented, the man was having difficulty answering the cop’s simple questions like, “where you headed” or “where are you coming from.”

The officer noticed vomit all over the driver and the interior of the vehicle. He asked the man if he was aware he’d vomited on himself. “He acted like he did not know and looked at the vomit on his pants and between the door and the seat,” the officer wrote in the report.

When the officer asked for the man’s license, registration and proof of insurance –the driver handed him a Ruby Tuesday’s coupon. The officer pointed out the mistake, then the driver took out a plastic document protector and asked, “Is this my driver license right here?”

“This went on for several minutes,” the officer wrote in his report.

According to the Daily News, the breathalyzer tests showed between .205 and .219 blood alcohol level–almost three times the legal limit. The driver was arrested for DUI- no court date has yet been set.
