Police in North Las Vegas has released body camera footage from an officer-involved shooting that took place over the weekend.
The NLVPD Motor Unit officer was attempting to intercept a speeding truck on Sunday when the driver refused to surrender and carried on until he lost control.
The offending vehicle, driven by Feliz Cuautle-Coyolt, recovered from the crash and turned towards the officer.
Defending himself, the officer drew his sidearm and fired several shots while attempting to get out of the way of the truck.
Cuautle-Coyolt before getting onto the Interstate, crashing into median wires.
His vehicle immobilized for good, Cuautle-Coyolt ran and hid but was later tracked and apprehended by a K-9 team from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
According to KNTV, the incident marks the second officer-involved shooting for the NLVPD.
