A confrontation over some possible shoplifted items turned into an officer-involved shooting outside a Del City, Oklahoma Walmart.
According to KOCO, the man and Langston University officer got into an argument about the man possibly stealing some items from the store. During the words, the man got into his car and put it in reverse, nearly striking the off-duty officer.
That action caused the officer to reach for his gun and unload his magazine into the vehicle.
The man drove away, and on-duty officers were soon on scene to get the details.
The university is already trying to distance themselves from the officer in question.
Del City police will turn over all of the information to the District Attorney and see if he will decided to charge either of the two involved parties.
