An off-duty New Jersey police lieutenant is now in custody after police say he shot and killed his estranged wife and seriously injured her boyfriend on Sunday night.
According to NBC New York, Lt. John Formisano was arrested Monday morning at his parent’s house.
Formisano, a 24-year veteran, is being accused of shooting his ex-wife and her boyfriend at their home. Police say there were also two children inside the house at the time, though both were uninjured.
Formisano then ran, only to be arrested at his parent’s house the next morning.
Police have not said what led up to the shooting, or the charges Formisano could face.
The boyfriend is still in the hospital in critical condition.
