The commander of the NYPD’s Bronx 45th Precinct is to be transferred after it was discovered that he was engaging in a relationship with a subordinate.
Capt. Thomas Fraser will be moved to a different precinct after the relationship was outed by way of anonymous complaint, according to sources within the agency.
Fraser will be replaced by Capt. Isaac Soberal, who currently heads the 40th Precinct.
According to the New York Post, the investigation revealed that while the officer didn’t receive any special treatment, the NYPD frowns upon commanders dating subordinates.
Fraser began his career in 2001, spending six years patrolling housing projects in Brooklyn before becoming a platoon commander in the 71st Precinct in Crown Heights.
Eventually, the urban lawman was tasked with heading the 45th in 2019, and he has approximately two decades of service under his belt.
