The NYPD Captain who raised the ire of the force by going home after two officers were shot in Brooklyn has been demoted to Lieutenant.

According to the New York Daily News, 31-year-old Captain Scott Forster was demoted from his role as second in command of the 71st Precinct Wednesday, the result of his abandoning two wounded officers in the aftermath of a battle with an ex-convict.

Sources indicate that Forster went to his home in Staten Island instead of accompanying the officers to Kings County Hospital, calling out sick the next day with stomach pain and diarrhea.

According to officials, Forster has been transferred as well as stripped of his badge and gun, the result of being accused for gross negligence.
