A NYPD officer was left stunned, bloodied, and in need of medical attention after a repeat offender on probation came up to her and slugged her in the face.

According to the NY Post, the officer was breaking up an argument between a couple of kids when Ernst Delma came up to the female officer and punched her.

Another NYPD officer saw what happened and immediately began chasing Delma down.

The NYPD identified the injured officer as Mary Fay, a rookie with eight months of experience on the job.

Delma attempted to claim innocence and apologized as he entered the courthouse. The judge set his bail at $100,000.

Delma is a repeat offender when it comes to assault and burglary. He once slugged a tourist near Broadway and threw bodily fluids at an officer.
