A member of New York’s Finest has taken his own life, according to the NYPD.
Rory Dahill was found dead by single gunshot wound to the head at his Manhattan apartment on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old was discovered after he failed to report for duty and officers performed a welfare check.
According to the Daily Mail, Dahill joined in 2013.
The officer’s death marks the second officer suicide in the NYPD this month.
On April 5, Deputy Inspector Denis Mullaney shot himself while sitting inside his police vehicle in Queens.
