An NYPD officer is giving up her badge and gun after spending nearly two years in jail waiting on a trial.

Wrapped up in “murder-for-hire” charges, Valerie Cincinelli is accused of paying her lover to kill her estranged husband.

The 12-year NYPD veteran resigned on monday, several weeks before the 36-year-old is expected to take a plea deal.

Cincinelli faces at least one count of obstruction, which could land her nearly 4 to 5 years in prison.

According to the New York Post, the now-former officer allegedly had a “hit list,” including her ex-husband and his 15-year-old daughter, whom Cincinelli felt was getting the most of her ex-husband’s money and attention.

Cincinelli was suspended without pay following her arrest.
