NYPD confirms investigation into officer over her funny TikTok video

A housing officer is reportedly in hot water with the NYPD for her ‘new boot goofin’ TikTok video.

In the now-deleted video, officer Christine Galgano pays homage to the Reno 911! comedy sketch where Lieutenant Dangle buys a new pair of boots.

Officer Galgano is seen, in partial uniform, wearing boots and short shorts, just like the famous skit.

Galgano’s post however was reportedly a violation of NYPD’s social media policy, which prohibits officers from posting “photographs of themselves in uniform and/or displaying official identification without authorization,” according to the New York Post.

NYPD spokesperson Sgt. Jessica McRorie told the New York Post that the “off duty incident was investigated and addressed by the officer’s commanding officer.”

Galgano’s social media presence includes an Instagram page with over 12,000 followers where she documents her cosplay and fitness activity, as well as her battle with COVID.
