NYPD’s Police Commissioner has Ted Cruz in his sights after he made comments regarding the policing of muslim Americans in NYC and nationally.
Responding to terror attacks in Brussels, Ted Cruz was quoted as saying that “we need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized.”
According to the New York Post, when asked how he would patrol Muslim neighborhoods, Cruz said that police would “continue the proactive policing you saw here in New York” that spied on Muslim communities under former mayor Michael Bloomberg.
NYC Mayor De Blasio called Cruz’s comments “reprehensible”, citing that “His comments are not about safety and security.”
Police Commissioner Bill Bratton backed his mayor up, speaking shortly after De Blasio during a press conference.
“I would remind the senator he lives in the United States of America,” he said. “And the statements he made today is why he’s not going to become president of the country, because we don’t need a president that doesn’t respect the values that form the foundation of this country.”
In an interview with CBS This Morning, Bratton said that Cruz “doesn’t know what the hell he is talking about” and that he was offended by Cruz’s comments.
“I have almost thousand Muslim officers at the NYPD. Ironically when he’s running around here, we’ll probably have a few Muslim officers guiding him.“
Bratton also admitted that there is no way to prevent a Brussels style-attack, due to the sheer size of New York City.
“Soft targets’ that is the term used. New York is a clear example of that,” he said. “We are a city of 8 1/2 million people with thousands of locations where a large number of people congregate. So the idea of trying to protect all of that, it’s not possible.”
Bratton has been the Police Commissioner of NYC since 2014, and previously held the role in the mid-nineties.

Does these idiots actually think that the current government and politicians stand for the values that form the foundation of this country. I’m not a Cruz fan for sure but look around. Obviously all those muslim officers must be citizens of this country and not illegal aliens. It’s the illegal aliens and their presence that needs stopped. I don’t know many, including myself, who object to legal citizens of any nationality.
