Violence in New York City got a little old school on Thursday night, when a man shoved one of New York’s Finest to the ground and tried to wrap a chain around his neck.
Seemingly taking a page out of former Vice President Joe Biden’s “Corn Pop” story, the man reportedly tried to strangle the officer in Noho during a night of heated demonstrations.
According to the New York Post, the incident was caught on video, and eighteen arrests were made during the demonstration.
The NYPD condemned the brawl via Twitter.
“Violence – in any form – is unacceptable,” the agency tweeted. “We will be reviewing this incident, and bring any additional perpetrators to justice.”
