A NYC surgeon was arrested yesterday after ramming into a police officer with her car — after he gave her a parking ticket.
The 40-year-old breast cancer specialist, at Montefiore Hospital, got caught double parking at the corner of West 55th and Eighth Ave, NBC4 reports.
She reportedly got so angry that she started cursing and jumping on her car. As she started driving away from the scene –with the door of the driver’s side still open– she hit the police officer in the leg.
He was hurt badly enough that he had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for the injury.
Police caught up with Dr. Rachel Wellner a few blocks away in Hell’s Kitchen, where she was placed under arrest. Wellner is now facing a number of charges including reckless endangerment and resisting arrest.
