A New York State Trooper was fatally shot responding to a domestic disturbance near the Pennsylvania border on Monday, with the suspect reported dead in the aftermath of the incident.

The shooting took place near SUNY Corning Community College, resulting in a heavy police response despite a lack of campus lockdown.

“All offices are open. The State Police are investigating the incident and are using one of the College’s parking lots as a Command Center. All questions should be referred to the State Police,” the college told Fox News.

The suspect’s identity and cause of death has yet to be released.
