A nursing assistant in Ohio confessed to sexually assaulting elderly male residents at her assisted living facility, including those who could not consent.
The 23-year-old, identified as Tiara Lynn Ford of the Cincinnati area, filmed herself committing sex crimes- evidence that would eventually be used against her.
Ford was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon and charged with one felony count of rape and two felony counts of gross sexual imposition.
The assaults took place at The Inn at University Village, according to Law And Crime, and the victims were reported to be men in their late 80s and early 90s.
It is unknown why Ford filmed the sexual encounters, which date from December of 2019 to December of 2021.
“Shock. Shock. That’s about the best way to describe my reaction to this,” Massillon Police Detective David McConnell said of the case. “Some of them couldn’t even speak. You know, they’re elderly, didn’t know what was going on and she did it for her own personal gratification.”
The facility has since notified the victims’ families.
“The safety and well-being of our residents is our highest priority. We have recently been notified that a former employee was involved in mistreating residents,” the facility said in a statement. “We immediately notified the involved families, police department and other appropriate authorities. We are fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation. Because of the ongoing investigation and HIPAA laws, we are unable to comment further at this time.”
