At least four people have been taken into custody after at least one officer is said to have fired shots during the multiple agency response to a shooting at a mosque in West Philadelphia on Wednesday.

At least two people were shot as people were celebrating the end of Ramadan, according to the local ABC affiliate.

The shooting took place in an area where residents were celebrating Eid al-Fitr, the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

According to the local Fox affiliate, several people have been arrested and multiple guns were recovered at the scene near the 4700 block of Wyalusing Avenue.

Philadelphia police officers were called to the scene from all around the city as their SWAT team.

Former FBI Agent, Nicole Parker, stated that five have been arrested and only one is an adult while speaking on Fox News.

She added that a female officer, who was writing parking tickets in the area, returned fire at the assailants and “neutralized the threat.”

This is a breaking news story and will be updated as new information emerges.
