A Florida police officer got quite a scare when lightning struck near his patrol car Tuesday night.
The Apopka police officer was getting out of the car during a thunder storm. A security camera caught lightning in the distance and then a bright blast as a bolt struck across the parking lot.
The officer appears to heed the warning and hustles back into the safety of his vehicle.
No one was injured but multiple transformers were damaged and electricity was knocked out, spokeswoman Kim Walsh told the Orlando Sentinal .
The Sentinal also reported that a lightning strike hit a runway at Orlando Sanford International Airport, causing a hole that delayed flights.
