Several NFL football legends are speaking out against Colin Kaepernick and others who kneel for the National Anthem, saying the former 49ers quarterback shouldn’t be surprised he can’t find work.
Hall of Famer Franco Harris said that while Kaepernick is taking a stand (by kneeling), disrespecting the flag is a no-go- especially in his employer’s uniform.
“If someone has a certain stance they want to take, that’s fine,” Harris said. “When he puts that suit on, it’s not just about him, his position and the things that he wants to back and wants to believe in, because the team has to come first.”
According to Mediaite, Harris believes Kaepernick would have been confronted by his teammates had he tried this in a different era.
“We had two of the meanest guys in football, who I think would’ve dealt with it that way, and that would’ve been Joe Greene and Jack Lambert.”
