An unedited version of a daring rescue amid a shootout in Florida has surfaced in its entirety, giving a glimpse into the level of danger officers face to save lives.

The 2016 shootout took place in Deltona, when Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies were forced to open fire on 26-year-old Emmanuel Rosado, who shot his wife in a dispute over custody of their two children.

The footage begins with the body-cam perspective of Deputy Eric Cheek, who was first on the scene and initially engaged the suspect in a gunfight.

As the shootout progressed, three children were taken out of harm’s way.

According to Live Leak, some snippets of the footage have been released to the public in the past, but some footage was withheld due to the ongoing prosecution against Rosado.
