A cartoonist for the New Yorker has been arrested for possession of child pornography, according to local authorities.

Following the execution of a search warrant, authorities from the Village of Rhinebeck Police found evidence of illicit materials involving minors on the computer of Danny Shanahan, 64.

According to the New York Post, police didn’t say what prompted the investigation or provide any details about the case.

Shanahan was released with a ticket to appear in court next year. For some reason or another, he was not considered a flight risk.

Shanahan was not available for comment.

Interestingly enough, his son, Render Stetson-Shanahan, was sentenced to between five and 15 years in prison for the 2016 murder of his female roommate.
