Law enforcement came in hot and heavy after multiple shooters began opening fire late Saturday evening at a Mississippi crawfish festival. The shooting struck at least six people and at least one person is dead.
According to WLBT, four people were transported to the hospital and are listed in stable condition.
The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office is still putting the details together on what caused the mass shooting to occur. They did confirm that two to three began shooting at each other in a parking lot area with the bullets flying towards the midway section.
It’s believed that a responding sheriff’s deputy opened fire and killed one of the potential shooters.
A pistol and two handguns were recovered at the scene.
It’s uncertain if the festival will continue or be shut down.
