With help from the public, police in Raleigh, NC arrested a mother who posted a video of her young child smoking marijuana on Facebook.
20-year-old Brianna Ashanti Lofton is charged with two felony counts of child abuse, possession of marijuana, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The toddler has been placed with Wake County Child Protective Services, according to WRAL.
The video began circulating this morning and several Facebook users who saw it began reaching out to law enforcement.
“We appreciate the public’s help in this matter,” said RPD Lieutenant Jason Hodge. “We welcome and encourage any assistance the public is willing to give us at all times.”
Lofton’s previous charges reportedly include simple assault, simple affray and violation of pretrial release conditions.
