One Dominican-American police officer in New York is putting the “fine” in “New York’s Finest,” holding a side-job as a lingerie and swimsuit model and gaining more than 411,000 followers on her Instagram.
Standing at 5’2”, Samantha Sepulveda is a fitness-aficionado who claims to get by on more than her looks.
“I talk men into handcuffs all the time because they don’t want to fight me,” said Sepulveda, who works for the Freeport, Long Island Police force and made $143,000 last year.
The petite officer-turned-Instagram model claimed that female officers are less intimidating to bad guys, which often leads to more cooperation.
“With a female officer, their guard is lowered. There’s less aggression and the situation is defused.”
While make-up free and professional-looking on duty, the daughter of Dominican Republican immigrants is the subject of mass attention on Instagram and other social media outlets with her racy -yet tasteful- photos.
While she has modeled in England, Spain and Nicaragua, don’t let her looks fool you- she holds an MBA in finance, is authoring a book and is looking to help create sustainable energy plants in Thailand.
That said, she has caught some flak for modelling.
“I’ve been under the microscope since I started, she told the New York Post.
Claiming her photos “celebrate a woman’s body,” the officer says she finds nothing offensive about the images.
“If people find them offensive, close your eyes!” she said.
