A Jackson, MS councilman wants to send a message to law enforcement officers from other jurisdictions by having citizens throw rocks, bricks and bottles at them.
Jackson Ward 3 Councilman Kenneth Stokes told reporters that police from other jurisdictions put their children in danger when they chase suspects through Jackson, according to MS News Now. Councilman Stokes said, “what I suggest is we get the black leadership together, and as these jurisdictions come into Jackson we throw rocks and bricks and bottles at them. That will send a message we don’t want you in here.”
The comments drew swift criticism from the surrounding law enforcement agencies, with one Sheriff even replying on social media that he’ll be his “huckleberry.”
