In a story that went mostly under the radar, Milwaukee police chief Ed Flynn gave 4 fairly simple rules on how to not get shot in the city.
At an annual ‘ceasefire’ meeting last month, Flynn told the media and attendees bluntly:
- Don’t be part of a crime gang or crew
- Don’t be a drug dealer
- Don’t illegally carry a gun
- If you’re in an argument with a stranger, ask them how often they’ve been arrested. If they’ve been arrested more often than you’ve been arrested, concede the point
According to ABC 12, Flynn also said that most of the people who have been killed in Milwaukee so far this year were gunshot victims and were “criminally-involved.
Flynn’s comments were met with quick condemnation, including from the Milwaukee Police Association.
