Miami PD gets a 3-wheeler

Somewhere, a Miami PD has been issued a Slingshot.

The South Florida agency is now the proud owner of a Polaris Slingshot, a three-wheeled vehicle that will be used for community outreach and zipping around town in style.

“This is going to be an icebreaker for us. Kids are going to want to walk up to this car, see it, sit in it, talk to the policemen, the policemen get to talk to the kids. I mean, it’s going to be perfect, man, I’m super excited about it,” Miami Police Chief Emilio Gonzalez said at the unveiling Thursday.

According to Fox News, the Slingshot was donated by Polaris and modified with a black and white paint job, lights and sirens, thanks to a local auto customization shop.

The vehicle starts around $29,450, can go 0-60 MPH in 5.5 seconds, utilizes a 174 HP engine and can go up to speeds of 130 MPH.
