Medical Center officer shoots himself during firearm training at off-campus facility

A North Carolina Medical Center police officer accidentally shot himself while practicing at an off-campus firing range on Tuesday.

According to WITN, the Vidant Medical Center police were performing a recertification training when an officer’s gun went off while he was pulling it out of its holster.

The bullet then went through officer David Grasha’s leg.

Grasha is also a part-time sheriff’s deputy.

His condition is unknown.
