Officers have arrested a Maryland high school teacher after she got into a fight with a student Friday morning.
According to NBC Washington, the teacher, who is in her 30s, began throwing punches at the student after the student ran into her and began shoving the teacher.
“I am extremely disappointed by the horrific actions that took place in our classroom today,” Prince George’s County Public Schools CEO Monica Goldson said.
As the two brawled, other students and school staff tried to break up the fight.
Prince George’s County Police have not said what sparked the fight outside of a shove seen in the viral video.
The teacher is being charged with assault while there is no word if the student will face any charges.
Police were at the school just the day before when a student said they saw a classmate with a weapon.
