A manhunt is ongoing in Texas today after three Lubbock police officers were sent to the hospital after being hit by an SUV driven by a man identified as 32-year-old Carlos Martinez.
Officers were called to an apartment complex that Martinez was being evicted from and had gotten into an argument with employees who called police.
When officers arrived Martinez would was uncooperative and would not comply with officers’ commands to exit his vehicle. It was then that Martinez backed his SUV into three officers, seriously injuring one. One officer was allegedly able to grab a child from the vehicle just before or as Martinez drove into the officers, according to KCBD.

All three have now been released from the hospital. KCBD is also reporting that Martinez tried to hit Powell a second time but he was able to get out of the way.
Officers immediately opened fire on Martinez, hitting his vehicle several times, but he was able to flee the scene. His SUV was later found abandoned.
