Update: 2/21/23: Anthony Bonner pleaded guilty to pointing a gun at a Cleveland police officer last year.

The 24-year-old was also convicted of leading police on a high-speed chase that led to a stand-off in Cleveland last April.

Bonner was convicted of having weapons under disability, failure to comply with the order of a police officer, and receiving stolen property.

He will be sentenced on March 13th.

4/30/22: South Euclid police now confirm that one of the men seen waving a gun at an officer during a traffic stop has been arrested after a chase and standoff.

According to Cleveland 19, Anthony Bonner was arrested on April 22 after police spotted his vehicle, attempted to pull him over, and then watched him run inside a store after a brief car chase. Bonner eventually surrendered to police after a standoff that required the SWAT team to be brought in.

Bonner is believed to be one of the two men seen in a viral video waving a loaded gun at an officer sitting at a traffic light. The officer was unaware due to the tint of the window.

The other individual in the video has not been identified or arrested.

Bonner is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Original: A Cleveland Police officer was in his car at an intersection doing his job, little did he know the vehicle next to him could have ended his life in an instant.

According to Fox 8, police are now investigating a video that’s gone viral showing two young men laughing and waving loaded guns at the officer. The officer never notices the two because of the tint on their windows.

The video is dated April 6th.

“When you look at that video and think what is going through their head, what are they thinking of,” said Councilman Mike Polensek, chair of the Cleveland Public Safety Committee. “They think they can do whatever they want. They’re not afraid.”

Police are now trying to find the two individuals in the video.
