A Philadelphia man has been charged after he posted a photo of himself pointing a gun at a police vehicle online.
Ramil Dyer, 22, was arrested for “recklessly endangering another person” after the alleged incident involving a uniformed Abington Police Officer in a marked Abington Police vehicle back in July.
Dyer took the photograph while stopped slightly behind the officer’s vehicle. According to Patch, Dyer’s vehicle was darkly tinted which possibly prevented the officer from seeing him.
Abington Police said the officer in the vehicle was unaware a firearm was pointed at him.
Authorities began their investigation of the photo after being made aware it was posted online.
They determined Dyer was the suspect and the firearm was real.
He was taken into custody on Thursday while on his way to work but released the following day after posting $5,000 bail.
According to court records, Dyer is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on January 3rd.
