An apparently suicidal man entered a NYPD station in the Bronx and got a shocking end to his mental health crisis after 40th Precinct officers tased him almost as soon as he came in the door.
The man, who came in on Sunday, was attempting to turn the knife on himself when he fumbled and dropped the knife to the floor.
In mere seconds, officers burst into the area and tased the man, subduing him.
According to the New York Post, the video of the incident was tweeted by NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan, who praised the officers.
“Never hesitating and prepared for anything they [the officers] used a taser- ensuring a safe outcome for everyone. Well done!” Monahan said.”
