Talk about Miami heat- an illegal performance car street takeover became even morale after shots were fired.
The incident took place early Sunday morning, at the intersection of NW 146th Street and NW 7th Avenue.
Several vehicle enthusiasts began doing a street takeover, a scenario in which a section of road is illegally closed off so that cars can perform stunts and generally just make a lot of noise.
In video footage caught on the scene and posted to the “Only in Dade” social media account, a coupe can be seen bumping into another car.
In response to the minor fender bender, an individual pulls out a semi-automatic handgun with a “stendo” [urban slang for “extended magazine,” which sacrifices reliability for extended capacity] and empties the pistol magazine into the fleeing vehicle.
Three people between the ages of 19 and 20 were shot, according to reports by local law enforcement.
According to NBC Miami, anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact CrimeStoppers (305) 471-TIPS (8477) or (866) 471-8477.

Since the pandemic, a massive increase in the population of South Florida has led to a notable increase in street takeovers, pressuring law enforcement to keep up with public demand to disperse such events.
