The NYPD are urgently seeking any information that could lead to their arrest of a woman involved in an incident on the metro transit system.
As New York City has been armed with the National Guard, a video has been leaked from an incident on the subway involving a stabbing and use of an illegal firearm.
The video shows a Black male acting aggressively towards several passengers, intimidating them through verbal and physical antagonistic behavior and even claiming to be a police officer.
At one point, a Latino man stands up to put an end to the aggressor’s uncouth behavior, to which the aggressor happily obliges.
A fight ensues, and the two tussle around the subway car as people flee to safer seating areas.
As the Latino man is overpowered and beaten mercilessly in the face, a woman of unknown ethnic background comes up behind him and stabs him in the kidney area.
“You stabbed me?” the mentally disturbed aggressor shouted as he began bleeding through his shirt. “You stab a cop?! You stab a cop!?”
Despite urges from other passengers to consider the safety of the children in the train car, the group continues to fight.
The aggressor then fumbles for his firearm. In the ensuing struggle with the Latino man, four shots are fired, with one critically wounding the aggressor.
Many news sources have only shown the second part of the video, leaving out the first part where the aggressor was acting in hostility towards everyone else.
According to the Daily Mail, the Latino man was taken into custody but the female with the knife fled the scene, telling passengers that she did nothing wrong.
The aggressor, who is 36 years of age, is reported to be in critical condition.
“When you bring a gun on a train and you start a fight, it’s not right and it’s absolutely outrageous,” NYC Transit Chief Mike Kemper said in a statement.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) chairman Janno Lieber agreed with Kemper, stating that “The victim here, as the chief said, appears to be the aggressor.”
No charges have been filed as of yet.
The incident comes a mere week after the governor of New York deployed National Guard troops to Guard critical areas of NYC amidst a crime wave.
