The NYPD has arrested a man they believe punched an unsuspecting 71-year-old woman in the face while both of them were walking down a Brooklyn sidewalk.
According to ABC 7, Jaquan Whittle was out on probation when he committed the violent attack against the grandmother of 11, who was heading home from her job as a daycare worker.
Joan Baptiste told officials she believed she had initially fallen, but surveillance video showed the vicious punch which broke her jaw.
Whittle had been previously arrested for attempted rape in 2017 where he stalked a 23-year-old woman in a subway station.
As for Baptiste, she had reconstruction surgery on her jaw and will not be able to eat solid food for quite some time, though she’s expected to make a full recovery.
