A 24-year-old man driving on a Bronx expressway was killed by a shooter in a passing vehicle, police said Wednesday.

Nelson Caban was zipping south on the Bruckner Expressway in a Honda Accord when a sedan pulled up alongside him about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Someone inside the sedan fired at the Accord, hitting Caban in the chest and face.

Caban was still in his seat when police responding to a 911 call found the car stopped next to the median between the Westchester and E. Tremont Aves. exits.

Medics rushed Caban to Jacobi Medical Center but he could not be saved.

His killer has not been caught.

It wasn’t clear why Caban, who lived in East Harlem, was targeted. Police haven’t ruled out road rage and are also looking to see if his slaying could be connected to 2020 non-fatal shooting in which he was a person of interest.

Caban had 11 prior arrests, at least two for use of a firearm, police said.
