Memphis police are searching for a man who dressed as Santa Claus and strolled into a bank with some treats just before robbing the place.
Surveillance video obtained by WBIR shows the man calmly handing out candy canes to customers and employees, at Memphis City Employee Credit Union on Wednesday morning.
“Santa” then walks back to the same teller that he gave treats to seconds earlier, and reaches into his pocket to pull out a note.
After handing the teller a note, which apparently demanded she give him the money in her cash drawer, the suspect takes the bills and heads out of the bank.
The video then shows the robber walking outside through the parking lot as he’s pulling the Santa mask off his head.
Memphis PD posted a description of the incident on their Facebook page. No arrests have yet been made.
Police say the suspect is described as a black male, 5’09”, 150 lbs., wearing a Santa mask, red shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
Anyone with information about this case is being urged to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
